Two projects by Elisava students, distinguished in the IV Catalonia Ecodesign Award 2021
The IV Catalonia Ecodesign Award 2021, which focuses on products under development and proposals from the student world designed to improve environmental performance throughout their life cycle and their contribution to the circular economy, was held the 15th of October.
The edition focused on the creativity of Elisava students, distinguishing two projects designed by students from the faculty.
The award for Best Young Design went to the ‘Des-Embolcall’ project by Julia Farriol Duran, a system of reusable packaging in standardised formats designed to improve the distribution chain. ‘Des-Embolcall’ has a dual functionality: transporting goods from the point of extraction to the point of sale and displaying them without changing the container. Among other reasons, the project has been renowned for promoting proximity and bulk consumption and the reduction of packaging materials.

In this same category, ‘Photodermis’ received a special mention, also made by another Elisava student, Gemma Delgado Morell, which provides a speculative solution to the environmental impact of energy consumption.
Both students, considered innovative talent renowned by the Catalan Ecodesign Strategy, bring new creativity to a competitive industry, as well as environmental benefits in the face of the climate emergency.
