The National Craft Awards recognise the TFG ‘Joiana’ by alumni from the Degree in Design Sílvia Conde

The Generalitat of Catalonia has awarded with the Young Talent Award the designer Sílvia Conde Tragant, former student of Elisava’s Degree in Design, for her Final Degree Project ‘Joiana’.

‘Joiana’ is an intergenerational project of hair jewellery that aims to materialise the connection between grandmothers and granddaughters through time and the transfer of knowledge between generations of women. The jewellery collection, in collaboration with TOUS, is made up of seven pieces of jewellery designed for the hair or as amulets based on the symbol of a flower, that blooms, blossoms and fades, leaving a seed from which another flower is born.

The award ceremony will be celebrated on February 19 at Palau de la Generalitat, and will be led by the president of the Generalitat of Catalonia, Pere Aragonès, and by the counsellor of Bussiness and Labour, Roger Torrent. With these and other awards, the Catalan government wants to recognise the value and relevance that craftwork has in the Catalan society and, at the same time, contribute to give it the maximum projection through the recognition of the sector’s work.
