The Elisava Community

There’s a lot going on at Elisava outside of class. These are the current activities and student groups you can join. If you have an idea or you’re part of a student group that would like to organize a new activity, contact the undergraduate or master’s coordination team and we’ll explain what you need to do.

Theatre Group / Scenic Lab

Join the school’s Theatre Group / Scenic Lab! Directed by Elisava Alumni Mònica Molins and Núria Blay, the group was founded in 2006 with the aim of transferring the university’s creativity into the world of theatre, from acting to set design and graphic design.

Since its beginnings, the group has provided training for people in the Elisava community who are interested in the world of acting and who love stories that invite reflection and introspection.

Every year in mid-October, a session is held to introduce the course, and the admissions period begins.

Theatre Group FAQs How does it work?

The training is divided into two phases: theatre classes and play production.

1. Theatre Classes

The theatre classes (part one of the training) consist of 10 sessions, generally held on Friday afternoons. Each session includes instruction in movement, vocal techniques and acting.

2. Play Production

During the winter holidays, the directors create a play in which all the actors from the theatre course can participate. Rehearsals begin in January, with an estimated dedication of roughly three hours a week. The amount of dedication increases beginning in April: in addition to the weekly rehearsals, there are also meetings on Saturdays. The goal is to present the play the first week of May. In addition to acting, the theatre group also encourages participation in set design and costume design.

Who can join?

The theatre group is free and open to the entire Elisava community: undergraduate, master’s and postgraduate students, teachers and administrative and services staff.

How do I sign up?
