The academic journal Temes de Disseny has been recognized as a first quartile (Q1) publication in the “Visual Arts and Performing Arts” category of the international SCImago Journal & Country Rank (SJR), placing it among the top 25% most impactful and cited journals during the 2022–2025 period.
The SCImago Journal & Country Rank (SJR), developed using data from the Scopus bibliographic database, evaluates the scientific impact of academic journals worldwide and is considered one of the leading international research indicators. Temes de Disseny’s ranking can be consulted on the official SCImago portal.
In addition to this recognition in the field of visual and performing arts, Temes de Disseny has also been ranked Q2 in the “Cultural Studies” category, further consolidating its international position as a space for research, reflection, and debate on contemporary design.
This achievement has been made possible thanks to the quality of the contributions from authors, reviewers, and collaborators who actively participate in the development of the publication, as well as from the scientific community that has taken it as a reference. It also highlights the ongoing work of the editorial team formed by the Editors-in-Chief Dr. Danae Esparza, Dr. Ariel Guersenzvaig, Dr. Massimo Menichinelli, and Dr. Daniele Porretta, and by the editorial coordinators Dr. Guim Espelt Estopà, Dr. Xavier Diego, and Dr. Marco Musy.
With more than four decades of history, Temes de Disseny has established itself as a leading academic platform for design research, open to critical, transdisciplinary, and experimental perspectives.
The journal will soon publish the special issue Design Practices Transitioning Towards Embracing Systemic Worldviews, focused on design practices oriented toward systemic perspectives and approaches linked to sustainable transitions.
The journal’s regular edition also remains open for article submissions and research proposals.
