Toni Montes is, along with Roger Paez, director of the Ephemeral Architecture and Temporary Spaces Master’s Degree at Elisava. He is also the coordinator of the Llum BCN Workshop and has directed several Innovation Lab programs (Primavera Sound, World Roller Games).

He is an architect and founding partner, together with Laia Isern, of Miba Architects, a platform dedicated to design and architectural research. His projects have been widely recognized, awarded and published internationally (Selected at the Mies van de Rohe of European Architecture 2015 Awards, Selected at the FAD Awards 2011, 2014 and 2017, finalists of the Lledó Awards for Iberian Architecture 2018, etc.) . He was also a founding partner of F451 Arquitectura (2000 to 2014) and a member of the editorial committee of the magazine Quaderns d’Arquitectura i Urbanisme (2003-2005).

He has been a professor at the BAC (Barcelona Architecture Center) in the study abroad program of Clemson University, Texas A&M and Roger Williams University (since 2009), the Master Program in the IAAC (Institute of Advanced Architecture of Catalonia) , of several postgraduate programs at the School of Design Elisava (2006-2013) and School of Design Eina (2001-2004).

He has given lectures and participated in juries and workshops at the School of Architecture of Barcelona (ETSAB), the School of Architecture of La Salle (ESARL), the School of Architecture of the International University of Catalonia (ESARQ-UIC), the College of Architects of Catalonia, the École d’Architecture of Grenoble, Akademie der Bildendenkünste of Vienna, the University of Temple to Philadelphia, the Forum of Architecture of the Ville de Nice and the Institute of Advanced Architecture of Catalonia.
