Guim Espelt, PhD
Professor of the Degree in Design and Innovation and the Degree in Industrial Design Engineering

Designer, researcher through design of socio-cultural aspects and fiction-related. He studied Technical Engineering in Industrial Design (ELISAVA, 2005), Higher Diploma in Design (UPC, 2008) and masters in Art, Architecture, Design and Set Design (FPC, 2007) and in Art and Design Research (EINA, 2016). PhD in Philosophy, which thesis is focused on the role, processes and use of design objects in cinema, at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.
He has collaborated with Studio Suppanen, TACP Architects, and Apparatu, as well as organizing several projects on his own. For the Barcelona Museu del Disseny he worked in the Documentation Centre and co-designed educational workshops related to the collection of industrial design. In addition to curating the cinema cycle “Design, camera, action!” and being a member of the ADI-FAD management board (2012-2017), he contributes to the magazine of architecture, public space and design Diagonal. Additionally, he is part of the research group Futures Now, from Elisava Research and he is Managing Editor of “Temes de Disseny”.
