Juan Albert studied architecture at the Faculty of Architecture of the UNAM in Mexico D.F. (1985) and was professor of Projects and Theory and History of architecture at the same university (1985-86). He began his professional work in Mexico City and moved to Barcelona to pursue postgraduate studies in History of Architecture at the ETSAB, School of Architecture of Barcelona (1987). Since 1987 he works as an architect in Barcelona as a sole entrepreneur and in collaboration with other teams.
Professor at ELISAVA since 1995, combining his teaching work with the work of Coordinator of postgraduate studies (2001-2004) and Project Area Manager (2005) in the Bachelor's Superior Degree in Design.
Invited to teach courses and hold conferences in: Postgraduate degree in Interior Architecture, Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (2001), Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, Master's Degree in Housing of the XX Century (2007), ), Colegio de Aparejadores y Arquitectos Técnicos de Barcelona (2004- 2008), Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (1986,1998, 1995 and 2015), Gengdan Institute of Design, Beijing Technological Institute (2018). He has participated in numerous international workshops: L'École de Design (2016), Oslo Akershus University (2017), Bangalore Cumulus, Srishti Institut of Design (2007).
