Dr. Martin Andreas Koch
Professor of the Undergraduate Degree in Industrial Design Engineering
Doctor cum laude in Biomedical Engineering from the UPC
Martin A. Koch has a degree in Biomedical Engineering from the Technical University of Giessen-Friedberg (Germany). He gained experience in software and hardware development and as a quality system manager for an electronic medical device company. He completed his PhD at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia UPC, working in the field of Tissue Engineering for the cultivation of bone cells in synthetic biomaterials in vitro and in vivo at the Institute of Biomedical Engineering of Catalonia IBEC. After receiving his PhD with cum laude in 2010, he worked in the bioengineering department of the CTM technology center as an R&D engineer. Since 2016, Dr. Koch is a professor at the ELISAVA School of Design and Engineering of Barcelona and is the head of its Science and Technology lab.
