Dr. Juan Gómez is a Telecommunications Engineer from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), where he also studied the Master's Degree in Applications and Management of Telecommunications Engineering (MASTEAM) and later did his doctoral thesis within the framework of the doctoral programme of the Department of Electronic Engineering.
After obtaining the title of cum laude Doctor he continued to work as a research associate in the Instrumentation, Sensors and Interfaces group of the UPC in subjects related to his field of research, non-invasive biomedical instruments for the detection and monitoring of cardiovascular diseases. In this line of work, he has participated in R&D&I projects financed by competitive public calls such as the H3C Home Health Care (TEC2009-13022) or the Cardiovascular Scale (2016 PROD 00014) and has published several publications as first author in scientific indexed journals and congresses, in addition to being co-author of several international patents.
Specialist in the design of analog electronics, he also has experience as a Java programmer and as a teacher at the Open University of Catalonia (UOC). Since 2016, Dr. Juan Gómez is a professor at ELISAVA, coordinator of several science and technology subjects and head of the Electronics and Interaction Laboratory.
