Professor of the Master in Design through New Materials

Clara works with strategic material and innovation development. Her main focus is on textiles and allied industries. Aiming for systemic change through circularity and for more sustainable options.

Clara was part of the core group for the Better Cotton Initiative in its initial phase. And has lectured at ETP Textiles Brussels, at DAE Eindhoven, at the Volkenkunde Museum Leiden and at MA-DE Barcelona. Currently, she is a member of the Scientific Council of BITHABITAT and a member of Hemp The Climate, an organization that supports the deployment of hemp as a climate positive industrial material source.

As a consultant and advisor on strategic development, Clara is helping companies shift towards more sustainable models. Some of the companies and organizations she collaborates with: IKEA, Girbau, BitHabitat, Texia (Mydrap, Rolldrap), HempTheClimate or Ananas Anam Ltd. As a free-lance consultant she is continuously researching materials and innovations in connection to sustainability.
