‘Roomies’, new project incubated at Elisava Impuls

Roomies, project developed by the student Adrián Pascual Pujó and tutorized by Raúl Goñi, Saúl Baeza and Irene Peral, has began its incubation process at Elisava Impuls, the entrepreneurship plan at Elisava that fosters projects with real impact potential within the market, the planet and society.

The project, which won the ei! Award, offers an interactive experience aimed at teenagers hospitalized at the Sant Joan de Déu Hospital. Roomies responds to a clear problem: prolonged hospitalization interrupts social development and causes disconnection, with direct effects on identity and emotional well-being. To address this, it proposes an online social video game and mixed reality that expand their room and connect it to a digital version of the hospital, allowing patients to interact, support each other, and socialize to mitigate isolation.

The inclusion of Roomies at Elisava Impuls responds to the fact that the project fits perfectly with one of the program’s three priority areas: health and well-being, along with sustainability and technology. Through this initiative, Elisava Impuls supports projects that solve real problems, generate positive impact, and contribute to transforming key sectors of society.

In addition to the social relevance of the project, Roomies stands out for the entrepreneurial attitude and determination of its author, who has successfully combined sensitivity, impact research, and prototyping capabilities. Elisava Impuls’s evaluation has also identified the clear viability and scalability of the proposal, both in the hospital setting and in the development of future social and therapeutic applications. During the incubation phase, Roomies will receive support in: strategic development and business model, connection with agents in the health and interactive sector, specialized mentoring, and definition of possible ways to implement and scale the project. Its entry into Elisava Impuls reaffirms Elisava’s commitment to innovation that puts people at the center, and to promote projects that use design as a transformative tool with a direct impact on well-being and quality of life.

Roomies will also be presented at the 4YFN of the Mobile World Congress, within the University Spin Off Zone, where Elisava Impuls annually exhibits innovative solutions developed by students, alumni, and researchers.
