Paolo Sustersic, architect (IUAV, Venice) and PhD (University of Southampton), is professor at Projects and Social Sciences areas in Elisava. Director of the History of Furniture of the XX Century course of the Association for the Study of Furniture and Professor of History of Modern Architecture at the International University of Catalonia. Between 1997 and 2011 he has carried out several teaching activities in undergraduate and master's courses at ETSAB-UPC. He is a member of the Board of the Working Group X-Files on international relations of the Cumulus Association and promoter of the Elisava Food Design Forum.
His research areas include history of modern and contemporary architecture, industry and technology, mobility cultures, interior design and furniture, food design. He participates regularly in conferences and research seminars. His texts and essays have been published in books, catalogues and national and international magazines of architecture and design. He has collaborated with several institutions in curatorship, organization of conferences, courses, research activities and other cultural initiatives, among which the College of Architects of Catalonia, the Iberian DOCOMOMO Foundation, the Foundation Mies van der Rohe, the museums of Design and Urban History of Barcelona. As an architect, he has carried out projects for public and private clients in Italy and Spain.
