Food Design Lab

As promoted at policy level, sustainable, healthy and inclusive food systems rely on systemic, cross-sectoral and participatory, multi-actor approaches. Food Design is the transdisciplinary field enabling sociocultural, economic, environmental and even political systemic transformations addressing nutrition and health – including food safety, climate and environmental sustainability, circularity and resource efficiency, and innovation and empowering communities.

Key innovations, technology transfer and entrepreneurship projects work towards agroecology, food services and food systems designs for societal awareness, more humanised experiences in gastronomy, food processing and packaging, and the use of data and educational supports to promote healthier and environmentally friendly food-related behaviours.
