Design x City Making

Cities are the hotspots where opportunities are concentrated and the laboratories where the quality of life can be improved both at individual and collective scale. Cities’ densities promote interactions between people and businesses, allowing people to work, learn and play together.

Leader: Roger Paez, PhD

DxCM explores the diverse roles of design as a city making agent, fostering social innovation, political experimentation, and radical imagination by working at the intersection between design, architecture, and the city. As the New European Bauhaus initiative states: Sustainable, beautiful, together.

Projects

Key innovations and technology transfer projects address social innovation by generating new quality interactions amongst citizens thanks to temporary space designs and tactical urbanism actions, and address sustainability by developing circular sustainable urban furniture.
