Circular Materials Design is a multidisciplinary methodological proposal that strives to combine creative processes from design disciplines (e.g. design thinking), material sciences (e.g. materials characterisation methods) and environmental sciences (e.g. life cycle assessment method).
It intends to establish the foundation for creating new circular pre-industrial materials and products: first by using waste or biologically grown materials as raw materials; then by ensuring that they fit into a circular economy and have a lower environmental impact than existing materials and products.
