Publications
Publications are one of the main outputs for measuring Elisava Research’s knowledge production and, by extension, its impact. We publish regularly in recognised scientific journals, curate and edit books and magazines, as well as our indexed annual scientific Journal Temes de Disseny. We strive in making all these publications Open Access.

Creative transversal competencies as a link between higher education in product design and the company
Elisava case study, due to its relevance in higher education in Spain and its influence and connection with the national and international business fabric from Barcelona. The results of this research allow us to define useful tools to enhance the interconnection of the new generations of students with the industrial reality and its possible demands for jobs.

Design through cinema: A cinematographic approach to the practice and discourse of product design
Design and cinema can be considered two creative disciplines that generate cultural products, and with multiple relationships between them, but they have not always been studied. This thesis proposes to bring these two areas closer through an analysis of the representation in the cinema of the practice and discourse of product design. Likewise, the thesis reflects on the cinematographic representation of the identity of the designer.

Action Architecture. Socio-spatial practices for a critical intervention in the hypermodern city
In the current context of hypermodernity and deterritorialization, we face the need to rethink the architectural paradigm and develop new spatiotemporal strategies and new models of action in the city that demand spatial justice. Based on this need, the main objective is to articulate a body of socio-spatial strategies for critical intervention in the hypermodern city that we choose to call 'action architecture'.

Conscious Ergonomics in Architecture. Information and interaction between the built environment, the human being and their integral wellbeing
Conscious Ergonomics in Architecture. Information and interaction between the built environment, human beings and their integral well-being. This thesis explores the well-being and health of workers, a problem that has always been in development. For this, ergonomics appears that tries to solve the negative impact of the environment on human beings.

Graphene: communication and knowledge transfer
Graphene: communication and knowledge transfer through the online press and participatory design methodologies reflects on the misinformation of society and the type of communication that is carried out. From the use of graphene, a two-dimensional material, a new form of communication is proposed through workshops with experts and non-experts or students. In this thesis, graphene serves as a connector between different sectors of society.

Kansei Engineering in the field of design: an applied engineering approach to material perception
Kansei engineering in the field of design: an approach from applied engineering to the perception of materials applies Kansei engineering as a method to develop products in order to convey the emotional needs of the users. In this research, statistical engineering is used to improve product development.

Temes de Disseny #34. Material interactions in the human-made milieu
Artificial intelligence, machine learning, Big Data and other technologies are becoming more and more widespread, and this could empower them as new materials for design. But what special features do they present? How should design include them in its practices? How do they affect design research? Human-computer interaction (HCI)? User experience (UX)? What are their ethical implications?
