‘Vuelta y Cruz: Conocimiento, comunidad e identidad en el encaje de bolillos’ is a research project that aims to use collaborative design as a tool to generate an exhibition piece that shows bobbin lace from a new perspective. To do this, we collaborated with the Tierra Estella Lace Makers Association, and created an interactive installation that, through light games, generates shadows that are the mixture of the different tasks of the participating lace makers. For the project’s memory, a book is published that uses bobbins as bookmarks for each section, and for which a typography is developed based on bobbin lace patterns.
