Tradición en Casa / Tradizioa Etxean

‘Tradición en Casa’ is about the restoration and conservation of Basque farmhouses, baserriak. It intends to offer another type of life for the future of the Basque farmhouse; towards a more sustainable and quality preservation in terms of culture and identity and the use given to the Baserri. Beyond the recovery of the volumes, it aims to approach the practices that were performed in the past that provide the building with a context and landscape.

With the rehabilitation of the building, the main function would be to design a space where to merge the architectural and gastronomic tradition. The essential concept in the preservation of built heritage is “use to conserve, and conserve to use”.
