‘Thiessen’ is a modular armchair designed for contract environments. Its aim is to project the future of the historic furniture manufacturer BD Barcelona, exploring a new way of approaching sustainability in the furniture sector, making use of new technologies and incorporating a new designer profile into the brand.
The armchair offers an alternative with less environmental impact than conventional upholstered furniture, completely redesigning its construction system to improve repairability, facilitate disassembly, and allow for the recycling of its components, without compromising comfort, formal expressiveness, or perceived quality.
