The Extruder

The project seeks to empower the community with a transformative tool capable of revaluing its environment. It does this through the extruder, an itinerant machine that travels to different construction sites in the city and collects the value of the material it finds along the way. Focused on the construction sector, it uses the material rastro (a mixture of crushed brick and clay) to generate different pieces that maintain a discourse between plane and volume, 2D and 3D.

A mobile tool, which works, only if someone uses it. A trace material, which contains the history of the different buildings and spaces. A product that starts from the work (construction) to be transformed into a work (art) through the discourse of the plan, where a simple drawing is able to become a complex volume.
