Societies have long protected their cultural heritage, depending on it for a sense of identity, memory and civic pride; a storage facility to which generations have contributed. Nevertheless, historic architecture and landscapes that served our ancestors are often allowed to disappear through development or abandonment.

'InSilence' is a photographic project that discusses the significance and treatment of the architectural heritage on the island of Malta. Through an installation of ten images and accompanying text, this project takes a marked critical approach to the subject, as romantic images of historic buildings lying in ruins, are traversed by a text that invites viewers to question the significance of the situation.
