La imagen del género

“The Image of Gender” is a project that questions the binarism of gender, sex and sexual/romantic attraction. Starting from the impostor syndrome faced by many trans and non-binary LGBTQ+ people, a phenomenon that makes them feel invalid within their identity, this project wants to highlight the validity of each of their gender identities by showing diversity. Each label has as many definitions as individuals who identify with it and, therefore, the image of gender is formed by each person.
This project explains gender from a non-binary point of view and involves people by putting the user in the spotlight. From a process of introspection about all the aspects involved in dealing with gender, each person generates his or her avatar in which he or she embodies his or her physical and inner identity.

“The Image of Gender” proposes a new way of designing social networks and digital platforms to stop employing profiles that are based on binary gender and start coming up with more flexible profile models that start from the individuality of the person to generate the profile.
