Topic City
As Barcelona transforms its mobility culture with interventions such as pedestrianizing streets and expanding green spaces, new challenges are emerging around how goods move through the city. Urban goods distribution (UGD), the final stage of the supply chain where goods are delivered within the urban environment, plays a critical role in everyday urban life. This project explores how logistics systems could evolve beyond minimizing disruption to actively contributing to environmental sustainability and community life.

Adopting a portfolio approach, “Delivering the City” is a set of interventions that reimagine urban logistics as a socially and environmentally regenerative system. These include Wallawagons, a network for redistributing second-hand goods; Ciutatme, which recognizes and leverages the social value of delivery drivers; Driving Lessons Delivery, an efficient service supporting local markets while training new drivers; and Dark Store Social Hub, transforming logistics spaces into community platforms. Together, they suggest how urban logistics could become a more integrated and positive force within the city.
