Corporeal Constructions, On Morphology
Exploring the relationship between body and space, analyzing its constructive capacities at the morphological level based on locomotor and anthropometric abilities, as well as contextual and sociopolitical factors, both individually and collectively.
This image-text dialogue research begins with an analysis of space within the body, where the body is understood as a place. It then expands the scale by observing the perception of external space, from somatics to locomotion, allowing for an examination of how the body unfolds and creates space in its environment, recognizing the body as an evolutionary system in dialogue with its context.
Finally, the focus shifts to the body as a performative and dynamic entity that interacts with and is influenced by its environment, considering it as an instrument. The study covers various contexts in which the body assumes roles such as political bodies, reactive bodies, performative bodies, collective bodies, instrumental bodies, and object bodies.
These temporal constructions reflect a direct relationship between how the body shapes and is shaped by different contexts and specific needs. All of the figures are rooted in representations of the human body; however, textual quotations sometimes amplify voices from non-human structures to further expand the dialogical discourse.
