The aim of the Elisava Fall Pavilion 2022 workshop has been to recall Buckminster Fuller, Frei Otto and Yona Friedman and to build a pavilion following some of their principles. B-LINK, a humble response to these grandiose visions of a better future, has been designed and built by more than 30 students of the Master in Ephemeral Architecture and Temporary Spaces and the Master in Design through New Materials. Its non-hierarchical construction system allows for organic growth, thanks to the simultaneous intervention of a large number of minds and hands from very diverse fields.

A set of 30×60 mm and 30×30 mm wooden sticks are assembled at irregular angles with just one drill to acquire structural stability. Dispensing with right angles makes the work easier for non-experts and allows a bottom-up design to be carried out directly on the construction site, without the need for detailed plans. To complete the pavilion, a tensioned fabric covers the constructed volume, using glass to mediate between the tectonic system and the textile.
