Acharnon For Arts
The project is understood as an extension of the city of Athens itself and in particular of some of the most vindicating elements that compose it: Street Art. A form of universal language that crosses barriers and borders, capable of forging new identities.
“Acharnon For Arts” focuses on artistic practices for reciprocal exchange between refugees, artists and locals, welcoming initiatives and projects that aim to inspire more open discussions and make urban processes and practices accessible and transferable with the active self-empowerment of all citizens. Through the critical study of the urban infrastructure and art movement in Athens, new possibilities and models for refugees to shape and influence society can be realized. As such, this incubator and research space proposes to reclaim collective ownership of public space in the city.
