So long, Jordi Cano

We regret to inform you of the heartfelt loss of our dear friend and colleague Jordi Cano due to Covid-19.

Jordi Cano has been for years the director of the Master in Design and Art Direction and the Master in Advertising Design and Communication, and, more recently, of the Master in Design and Audiovisual Creativity (all of them under COM Elisava). He has directed UMedia, Multidisciplinary Resources Unit for the University of Vic (UCC) and has been professor of the Degree in Advertising and Public Relations at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Communication at the Pompeu Fabra University (UPF). He has also been the co-founder and director of the Eumo DC design and communication studio.

Jordi has always been involved in the generation of new languages and supports for teaching and, in this sense, he has worked for years in the development of teaching methods for the generation of ideas, teaching workshops and creating tools such as the DDDD method (Discover, Define, Develop, Lead) for art direction; the BEEF method for generating disruptive advertising projects; and the HOURGLASS process for the development of communication strategy projects.

Elisava wants to remember the figure of Jordi Cano, both professionally and personally, and joins the grief of his family, friends and students who have had the privilege of attending his classes or carrying out one of his programs.

A big hug and thanks for everything, Jordi.

Javier Peña, General Director of Elisava
