The JIB-STER project, patented

Date:

The ELISAVA student Adrià Pedrosa has patented the JIB-STER technology developed for snowboard and skies during his Final Degree Project.

Adrià’s project consists in a new design of the side cuts and the sidewalls of the snowboard and the skies than can minimize and absorb the damages produced by the impacts with equipment components or with installations conditioned for the modality of snowboarding known as jibbing.

Adrià knew the problematic and the poor durability of the snowboard when practicing this sport. During his Final Degree Project, that was tutorised by Javier Peña, the student of the School carried out an study to know what are the most susceptible zones to break or to deteriorate and investigated which materials could solve the problem.

The JIB-STER technology allows to increase the impact absorption in a 70% and disperses the tensions in a 35%. Next 26th January, Adrià will present his project in the IPSO sports fair in Munich, where he will compete in the Product of the year category.
