The latest issue of The K Magazine, focusing on the retail design sector, is dedicated to collaboration and explores brands, tools and tips needed to achieve effective and efficient collaborations.
The magazine includes an extensive interview with Javier Peña, general director and scientist of Elisava, who looks into the concept that active collaboration is fundamental for both academic and business worlds. In other words: the need to be in contact with other organizations, to exchange and complete knowledge is basic to increase the competitiveness of any organization.
In this sense, as Javier Peña points out, the collaboration between University and Company represents one of the axes of collaboration of the new productive model, and one of the keys of the success of the educational model in Elisava.
Design, climate change and circular economy
Among other important statements, Javier Peña explains that "one of Elisava's principles is to think and create in freedom" and that "the keys for a successful collaboration are to share knowledge, create value and have something relevant to say". In this sense, he points out, "the generation of new ideas and knowledge creation cannot be carried out by one person or organization alone". In terms of the future, Javier Peña remarks that "design must start to take into account global concepts and situations such as climate change or circular economy".
