An Elisava student designs the poster and the image of the Setmana del Llibre en Català

Sergio Conches, Elisava's student, during the Setmana del Llibre presentation

Sergio Conches, an Elisava's Undergraduate Degree in Design student, is the author of the poster for the next edition of the Setmana del Llibre en Català (Catalan Book Week). This is the first time the event cooperates with our school.

This poster has been selected through a contest for Elisava’s design students. The winner project has been chosen by a jury formed by members of the Organizing Committee of the event and the teaching staff from Elisava. The project follow-up of the students who participated took place in a workshop given by Quim Moreno, teacher of the Degree in Design.

This poster will be shown in banners, buses and facades of Barcelona. The concept focuses on the unique character of this literary event, by means of representing some identity characters of Catalan: grave accent "à", cedilla "ç", neutral vowel "ə", and geminate "l·l". Each poster incorporates a small piece of information that explains each character shown.

This is one of the most important cultural events in our country, and it will show the richness and diversity of Catalan editing during its 37th edition, from 6th to 15th September.
