Elisava Racing Team: Undergraduate students design and manufacture an electric off-road motorcycle

Date:

The Elisava Racing Team is a team of twelve students in the 4th year of the Degree in Industrial Design Engineering and the Degree in Design who have joined forces to participate in the Barcelona Smart Moto Challenge. It is an international competition that takes place annually in Catalonia and encourages different universities around the world to develop a 100% electric off-road motorcycle.

However, the competition is a test bench where you can test a first technical and functional prototype of the motorcycle designed by the students. Taking as reference the motorcycles of the popular Paris-Dakar competition, the final goal is the development of a commercial product generated from the Bachelor's Thesis (TFG) of each one of the team members.

The students working on this project intend to create an innovative motorcycle through the incorporation of technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), 3D printing and production processes that facilitate the recycling of the different elements.

Project Schedule

Soon a presentation of the prototypes will be held in Elisava, as well as various activities for the newer undergraduate students to continue the project for the coming years. We will also hold meetings with companies from the industry interested in sponsoring the project, which will culminate with an open presentation to the public where a panel will score the different prototypes.
