MoMA acquires nine works by Domestic Data Streamers, a collective formed by Elisava Alumni 

The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York has announced the acquisition of nine works from Synthetic Memories, a project by Domestic Data Streamers, a Barcelona-based collective formed by Elisava Alumni. The studio will also take part in a collective exhibition at the museum starting next September.

Founded in 2013 by Pau García and a multidisciplinary team of designers, researchers and technologists, Domestic Data Streamers has built an international career focused on data visualization, social innovation and the exploration of the relationships between people and technology.

The acquired works belong to Synthetic Memories, a project that combines interviews and artificial intelligence to reconstruct personal memories that were never visually documented. Through this research, the collective reflects on memory, identity and the creative potential of emerging technologies.

The inclusion of these works in MoMA’s permanent collection represents a major international recognition for a project driven by Elisava Alumni, highlighting the role of design as a tool for addressing some of the most significant cultural and technological challenges of our time.

In addition, the studio will participate in the collective exhibition “Pirouette: Turning Points in Design Information”, curated by Paola Antonelli and opening on 26 September at the New York museum. The exhibition will feature Synthetic Memories and mark a new milestone in the collective’s international trajectory. Furthermore, Domestic Data Streamers will hold a solo exhibition at MoMA next year.
