More information

Editorial design has expanded dramatically. The role of the editorial designer has evolved from creator to producer, managing more and more processes directly, and each new process becomes an opportunity.

This master is aimed at curious, dynamic and proactive students who want to explore new relationships between design and content, and delve into the symbiosis between print and digital.

Some say that the printed media is defeated and that the future will be strictly digital. However, the reality is much more complex and vibrant.

Instead of witnessing the disappearance of traditional formats, the new practice harmonizes and enhances them, offering the user a more dynamic and transversal experience.

This context poses significant challenges and opportunities for designers engaged in editorial design. The role of these professionals goes beyond the traditional; they have become content strategies and storytellers, always from the knowledge of technology. It is about finding the connection between content, context and formats.

In the Master in Editorial Design you will learn diverse perspectives from the hand of international experts in the field of editorial design. Together, we will explore this new paradigm through projects, workshops and talks. Not only will you discover some answers to the challenges of today, but you will learn to overcome those of the future.

In the Master in Editorial Design we vindicate research, creativity and imagination in the creation of editorial products.

Learn by doing: develop projects with the support of professionals who define what editorial design means today.

Today, designers must be versatile and open to understand how communication works beyond paper. They must be able to turn a creative idea across multiple channels and assets.

The master addresses the practice of editorial design from multiple perspectives and through different formats.

Editorial designers must have the ability to adapt to a changing industry and play more and more roles.

Therefore, if you are thinking of studying editorial design, we recommend you to consult our training plan that you will find on this page. You are one step away from becoming the designer you've always dreamed of being!

The practice of design requires professionals with a decisive mind-set, with their own criteria and with a broad perspective on contemporary design. We want this master's program to facilitate these issues through experimentation and active and practical learning, with the support of great professionals.

Students will work on three projects that they will develop in all their aspects: a book, a magazine and a digital platform. Teachers will collaborate in this process and encourage students to go further, to go into detail without losing perspective through a balanced combination of thinking, planning and action.

Beyond technical issues, the master's program has been developed to encourage students in the pursuit of personal and professional development.

Today, designers must be versatile and open to understand how communication works beyond paper. They must be able to turn a creative idea across multiple channels and assets.

Currently, the practice of design is developed collectively and we want this transformation to also be reflected in this master. Working with efficiency, quality and in an intelligent way implies contrasting, collaborating and sharing, that is why, in the Master in Editorial Design, each student works as a team with another student in search of a meaningful and fruitful collaboration.

Practice is the key

The theory is important; but the true development of the graphic designer culminates in the practice of design. The master has a direct impact on this reality and is developed from an eminently practical perspective: experience offers us most of the design answers.

Close to reality

This master has been developed as a process of fluid transition between the academic and professional world. For this reason, we want students to develop the best of themselves, to maintain their motivation and to create a work environment close to that experienced in a professional environment.
