Elisava’s new website

We present Elisava’s new website. A website that has a double objective: First, to show the educational offer of the university (University Degrees, Masters and Postgraduates, Summer University, Study Abroad…); and secondly, to highlight from an inspirational vision the prominence of student and Alumni testimonials, and also their projects.

In order to visualize all the variety of content associated with the Elisava universe, the web design is structured around a solid set of modules. This way of working has helped us to optimize the content production, to organize it and to keep it updated: news, events, conferences, etc. We built a scalable and modular website that would allow us the greatest possible flexibility to adapt to the specifications of each programme and the organic growth of all the website’s sections over time.

We work on this approach achieving a balance between functionality and visual expressiveness. We have placed great emphasis on the User Experience so that the new website is intuitive and easily navigable. Through a limited color palette, the hierarchical use of typography, the prominence of large photographs and videos and the incorporation of small animations, we managed to show all the content in a much more attractive, dynamic and fluid way.

Each page is consciously conceived to express who we are and to connect with our entire community and with future students. From the most graphic content pages to the most content rich pages, which are intentionally clearer to make complex content easier to digest, both on desktop and mobile.

In the ‘What’s going on?’ and ‘Feed’ sections of the different pages, you will be able to see up-to-date everything that is happening in Elisava (from news, videos, activities, media impacts, podcasts…) in each programme , and on the home page, in Elisava Research, in Business

We firmly believe in the importance of the connection between the university and the industry, the transfer of knowledge is one of the main objectives of Elisava. All of this is reflected in the new ‘Business’ section, which presents a selection of R&D/R&I projects in collaboration with companies, institutions and NGOs; in-company training that we offer; student projects within the Elisava Impuls entrepreneurship programme; and collaborations to carry out internships or find a job.

In addition, the ‘Research’ section presents the new organization of Elisava Research which, from its Research Groups & Labs, works to generate an impact in the academic, industrial and cultural spheres, and in society in general, carrying out numerous collaborative projects of I+D+i, public financed with national and European funds, and for companies and institutions.

We have designed and developed more than 40 independent components, which have increased and prioritized the web content in a more aesthetic, efficient and usable way. In addition, all the graphic materials have been improved: higher quality and responsive images, incorporation of videos or interactions that assist the user in browsing.

All this has been carried out through the implementation of good practices in the areas of design, development and marketing. As a result, we observe that the SEO and performance metrics have improved compared to the previous website. We’ve gone from 58/100 to 81/100 on web health in Semrush. Regarding performance, Google shows that we have reduced the loading time from 4 to 1 second and our score is above 90/100.
