Elisava signs the agreement to inaugurate the Campus de les Arts in Can Ricart expected for 2026

Elisava is one of the educational centres that has participated in the signing of the agreement between the Government, Barcelona City Council and several Catalan universities (Universitat de Barcelona (UB), Universitat Autònoma (UAB), Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF), Universitat Politècnica (UPC), Universitat de Girona (UdG), Universitat de Vic (UVic) and UOC) to inaugurate the future Campus de les Arts in Can Ricart in 2026.

The Campus de les Arts aims to share new projects to achieve a significant increase in the third cycle and artistic research, as well as the expansion and specialisation of arts education teacher training.

The project requires an investment of between 14 and 18 million euros, depending on the degree of energy efficiency to be achieved, which will be requested from the EU through Next Generation funds. The aim is to close the institutional agreements and finalise the design of the project in 2022 in order to start the refurbishment work that same year and be able to start teaching in 2026.

The remodelling of the building located in 22@ will preserve its industrial character and adapt it to the new uses with the creation of classrooms, an auditorium, research spaces, offices and multimedia laboratories, among other facilities
