Elisava promotes two days of work with a delegation from the Silesian Design Observatory

Elisava, Barcelona’s Faculty of Design and Engineering, has promoted a meeting with a delegation from the Silesian Design Observatory. Representatives from the Zamek Cieszyn Regional Design Center, WSB Academy, and the Katowice Miasto Ogrodów Cultural Institution traveled to Barcelona to take part in this initiative.

This meeting, which took place on Monday, January 19, and Tuesday, January 20, aims to promote the integration of design in the Region’s strategic sectors, provide strategic intelligence, and facilitate collaboration between institutions, companies, and knowledge centers.

Activities on Monday included sessions at Elisava, visits to the Sant Pau Art Nouveau Site, and SDLI.
The meeting was led by Beatriu Malaret, head of the Department of Careers and Relations between Companies and Academia, with the participation of Cristina Taverner, Dean of the Faculty; Lubomira Troja (Silesian Design Observatory), Enric Bayó (Director of the Master in Advanced Design Management, Strategy and Entrepreneurship and the Master in Business Design), Massimo Menichinelli (Director of Elisava Research), Paolo Sustersic (International Mobility Academic Coordinator) and Ignasi Clos (Co-founder of SDLI – Innovation Agency).

On the second day, the delegation met with the Barcelona Creativity & Design Foundation (BCD Foundation), a key player in the ecosystem, to learn first-hand about its work, as well as about a representation of the companies that are part of its Creativity and Design Cluster. The companies that participated, representing the strategic sectors of energy and sustainability, health and well-being, green economy and circularity, and creative industries and cultural projects, were:

On this day, they visited DFactory and iAM3DHUB, and several sessions were also held at Disseny Hub Barcelona, with the participation of Lubomira Troja (Silesian Design Observatory); David Adrover, General Secretary & Executive Director of IAM3DHUB; and Isabel Roig, Eugènia Martí, and Sonia Monclús, General Director, Director of Innovation, and Cluster Manager, respectively, of the BCD Foundation.
