Elisava Masters’ Talks and lectures

The Masters’ Talks are a series of lectures with internationally renowned speakers who share their professional experience on design, communication, architecture, industrial design engineering, art and innovation.

These talks are free and open to the entire community and the city in general. They can also be seen in live streaming through Elisava’s Youtube.

The first edition of this cycle was held in the 2019-20 academic year and included the participation of the art historian and founder of Droog Design Renny Ramakers, the Magnum photojournalist Susan Meiselas, the designer and artist Morag Myerscough, the art director specialized in animation Anna Ginsburg and the architect and art curator Eva Franch. This 2022-23 academic year we continued the cycle with speakers such as Lev Manovich, Viviane Stappmanns, Jesper Kouthoofd, Amica Dall, Luna Maurer and Gail Bichler.

In addition to this series of talks, each programme periodically organizes talks that complement the training of students thanks to multiple external visions. International figures in design and communication explain their trajectory, and share their vision of the profession and their experiences with students and the creative community.

Some of these names are Ruben Pater, Johannes Breyer (Dinamo), Oscar Germade (former art director of VOGUE Spain), Nacho Padilla (art director of Barcelona City Council), Yehwan Song, Brecht Evens, Oscar Engroba, Eloi Maduell and Santi Vilanova (Playmodes), Javier Jaén, Anna Díaz (Hamill Industries), Eberhard Schlag (Atelier Brückner), Mona Kim, Álvaro Domínguez (freelance illustrator and graphic designer – The New York Times, TIME, Newsweek or Wired, among other media)…
