The first edition of the World Food Design Day (#WFDD21) will take place next Saturday, October 16th, on World Food Day. It is a pioneering and inclusive proposal by FORK (Food Design, Opportunities, Research & Knowledge), an organization founded by Mariana Eidler, head of Food Design at Elisava.
Aimed at students, designers, chefs, creative people, food professionals and more, #WFDD21, which is part of the program for the Barcelona Design Week, encourages participants to present their projects, prototypes and activities related to food design in an unconventional way.
Contributors from more than 30 countries will share projects and ideas to demonstrate how design and creativity can generate new consumption and production habits to find creative solutions toward more sustainable food systems. Among them, the Elisava Alumni Laura Gispert, with the Voilà BIO project (1:45 p.m.); Rafa Prat, with Soundametric Food (4:30 p.m.); Berta Daina, with Agro - Biomaterial Diversity (7:15 p.m.); and Marta Torres Moreno, with GALA - Gastronomic Visual System (8 p.m.).
The virtual event will be streamed live globally on Theforkorganization 's Youtube channel, in a 16h marathon for #foodchangers in action.
