First off, inside the Food Design Week that takes place from the 7th to the 14th of June, Elisava and IED students bring us the “Emblematics Route”. On some of the city's most memorable bars, such as  Centric Bar, an exposition that details some of their most featured elements of design that make them unique will take place. There's also the “Ruta Sin Prisa” where we'll discover a menu card made out of biomaterial by AGRO, a company founded by an Elisava Alumni. Finally, on the 14th of June at 11 am, a pitch will be held to select the winning project of the Fork Challenge, a contest that has tried students from Elisava, L'Ècole de Design Nantes Atlantique (France) and Eshte (Portugal). The 13 contesting projects of this challenge have devised new food systems. Sign up at Fork's Instagram account to access the final pitch.

Joves, visió i futur. EDIVI 2021-2022 (June 7th)

One of the first activities, also on the 7th, is the Joves, visió i futur meeting between students of different schools and faculties enrolled in the EDIVI network (including Elisava). Students will exhibit projects that pose questions and propose solutions looking at the future from the present and viewing the transformative impact design can have on people, society and the planet. After the sample, there will be an open debate with teachers and assistants.

-Inter- an experience for interaction, interconnection, interdependence (June 8th)

On June 8th at 7 p.m. the interactive dinner -Inter- at the Hidden Factory in Barcelona. Designed by ComoComo, this event has been conceived from a collaboration between Random Happiness and Open Box and also counts with Elisava Alumni and Food Design teacher Nicole Vindel, alongside some of the course's students. In the context of the Design The Restaurant Route, there will be an aim, through the meal, to connect with oneself, interact with others and, mostly, how to cooperate with a collective group.

Design Management: Folch & Anima Behind the Scenes (June 9th)

Meanwhile, at the Roca Design Gallery, on the 9th of June, Guillem Virgili, president of Elisava Alumni and Design Management professor at Elisava, will moderate a session titled Design Management: Folch & Anima Behind the Scenes. Professionals from Folch and Anima reveal how they manage their companies' business innovation, new opportunities,  talent, etc. This proposal is aimed at those professionals from the creative industry that wish to learn and share experiences.

Global Design Talks: Regaining a Sense of Belonging (June 10th)

Also at the Roca Design Gallery, on Friday 10th at 10 a.m., jointly with the first edition of the Festival of the New European Bauhaus (NEB), the conference Global Design Talks: Regaining a Sense of Belonging will take place. It will center on how product design, clothing or other elements of everyday life can transmit values and a sense of local belonging. Figures related to elisava (such as Mariana Eidler) and other institutions will converse around such a topic and how it could be incorporated into production and business practices. During the session there will be a presentation on the Espai Formica installation, on which Elisava also participates.

Espai Formica (From June 9th to June 17th)

Espai Formica, a collaborative project developed by Elisava and the Rhode Island School of Design and led by Müsing Sellés, aims to revise and question the capacity of collective, public and private spaces to adapt to a changing society by contributing a new notion of shared spaces.

The project will effectuate an ephemeral architectonic intervention (from June 9th to June 17th) to reactivate one of the warehouses inside the Nau Bostik complex, a new decapitalized space, designed and included for collectivity. The reactivation will be undertaken through the creation of a sequence of common spaces, which will evoke a new collective domesticity through the audiovisual and sensorial installations and the materiality of their elements, being designed solely out of high pressure Formica plates.

To the design room! A cinematic design collage (June 14th)

The movie “To the design room! A cinematic design collage”, work of Elisava teacher Guim Espelt, will be projected throughout the whole Barcelona Design Week, from the 2nd to the 22nd of June, as a part of Design at la Rambla at the Il·lacions Gallery where there will also be a brief talk by the author of the piece on the 14th at 7 p.m..
