Design made with food leftovers will be the central topic for the second workshop of the European project Material Designers (MaDe), led by Elisava and in collaboration with the design studio Ma-tt-er and the Politecnico di Milano. The workshop which will take place in Barcelona from October 7th to 11th.
How can we undress the fruit and vegetables we buy? How can we replace the paper films and plastic trays? Can we create new culinary aesthetics through food waste? These are some of the questions that will be raised to the 20 selected international participants.
The workshop, hosted by Elisava, will be led by Gaby Susanna, director of the Plataforma Aprofitem els Aliments, an association that works to prevent food waste.
Material Designers (MaDe) is a project co-financed by the Creative Europe Programme of the European Commission that addresses the training and exhibition of the new profile of materials designer towards a greater circular economy and its positive impact on the industry.
