On March 17th we will host a double session with the conference of Pepe Naranjo "Por los caminos de África" and the presentation of Route Artlantique 2020 by Ramon Llonch.
Pepe Naranjo, a freelance journalist who works as a correspondent for El País in Africa, will talk to us about his experience as a witness of the situation in the continent, focusing on education and projects related to design. Pepe is Canarian by birth and lives since 2011 in West Africa, between Senegal and Mali, where he collaborates with several media. He is co-author of the blog África no es un país of El País, and author of three books, Cayucos (2006) and Los Invisibles de Kolda (2009), which deal with the migratory processes in Africa, and El río que desafía al desierto (2019), a compilation of a set of chronicles published in La Provincia.
The presentation of Route Artlantique 2020 will be conducted by Ramon Llonch. Route Artlantique is the first creative workshop to include a trip to Senegal. The sixth edition of this educational exchange will take place from July 12th to 25th and is aimed at students, teachers and professionals from different creative disciplines. There, participants will be able to discover the potential of African creativity, participate in workshops with local designers, artists and craftsmen, understand the power of globalization and design as a unifying element and, above all, live an experience they will remember for life.
