‘BISU’ project by the students of the Master in Product Design in collaboration with Lamp and Arrels Fundació

The students Lucía Buño Loureiro and Marina Vera of the Master in Product Design and Development have carried out the BISU project, in collaboration with the company Lamp and the social entity Arrels Fundació. Arrels users transform the leftover material from Lamp’s production process into unique pieces of jewelry, with the ideation, implementation and manufacturing proposal of our students. The result of this collaboration tells a story of sustainability, design and inclusion.

Through an industrial treatment of waste and a clean and elegant design work, BISU revalues materials that would be thrown away otherwise. Its value goes far beyond the product: it has environmental importance, because it gives a second life to Lamp’s materials, and social impact, since these pieces are manufactured in Arrels Fundació’s occupational workshop. In this way, they connect industry with social projects that promote inclusion.

The proposal of the students of the Master in Product Design and Development represents the power of collaboration between business, university and social entity to transform resources and processes. Therefore, BISU is a project with a great purpose that transmits values needed in our society.
