Nomen Omen: visual narration for new audiences

This recognition strengthens Raisa Álava’s trajectory within illustration and contemporary art, highlighting a practice that engages with space, visual storytelling, and diverse audiences. The inclusion of Nomen Omen in a major museum collection underscores the role of illustration as a language that fosters critical thinking and meaningful cultural experiences.

The piece has been installed in Artium Museoa’s library dedicated to younger audiences—an environment designed to bring art closer through reading, experience, and learning. Within this setting, the mural acts as an active element that sparks curiosity and encourages an accessible, intuitive relationship with artistic creation from an early age.

In addition to the mural intervention, Raisa Álava has contributed to the selection of books that shape this space, helping define its identity and enrich its educational and cultural content. Access to the library and to Nomen Omen is free during regular museum hours, further establishing the space as an open meeting point for art, knowledge, and community.
