Last weekend ELISAVA took part in the Weekend Challenge as a guest university, an event organized by the TecnoCampus Mataró-Maresme in order to enable young university students and people from different profiles to share business ideas, create products and launch start-ups in an intense weekend.
Different design and engineering students of the School participated in two of the three winning proposals. The first prize was given to the «Fingerclik» project, an innovative hand hygiene system for the restaurant businesses. Its creators and producers were Xavier Soldevila, Josep Maria Rodríguez, Tiphaine De Rouge and Carles Rubí (these last two members are ELISAVA students).
The second prize was given to «DUDUM», a Final Degree Project by the students Júlia Camprubí and Ariadna López which is based on inclusive toys and that relied on the support of Tatiana Heittier, Anna Ferrarons and Ester Casas during the Weekend Challenge.
During the second edition of the Weekend Challenge, around sixty university students were able to develop their ideas in multidisciplinary teams, relied on the support of business men as advisors and attended different creativity and project presentation techniques workshops. The winning initiatives will obtain the prize of 9 pre-incubation months and 20 hours of consultancy sessions for the development of the prototype and its approval in the marketplace.
