Goula Figuera Studio celebrates Christmas and the 10th anniversary of the Disseny Hub Barcelona with a luminous installation

This season, the Glòries Square shines brightly with Constel·lacions, a luminous installation created by Goula Figuera Studio, founded by designers Pablo Figuera and Álvaro Goula, both Elisava Alumni. This piece, designed to celebrate Christmas and the 10th anniversary of the Disseny Hub Barcelona, symbolizes the diversity of design disciplines that coexist in this iconic city space.

The installation, an ethereal tree of lights, consists of 50 frosted glass spheres supported by aluminum rods up to four meters high. Its elegant and minimalist design evokes a moving constellation, reflecting the many creative projects and innovations that have emerged at the Disseny Hub over the past decade.

In addition and its visual impact, Constel·lacions align with the DHub’s sustainability values. It uses energy-efficient LED technology to illuminate the spheres and is made from glass, wood, and aluminum, which can be recycled or reused after the exhibition ends. This commitment underscores the importance of sustainable design as an integral part of the celebration.

Pablo Figuera and Álvaro Goula, in addition to being award-winning designers with accolades like the 2020 Delta Gold Award for their luminaire Fa Mini, are also professors in the Design Degree program at Elisava, where they share their expertise and vision with future generations of creatives. Their career combines creative direction at their studio and GOFI brand, establishing them as leading figures in contemporary design in Barcelona.
