Elisava Master’s in Furniture Design Alumni reunite in Barcelona

A group of alumni from the 2013 edition of Elisava’s Master’s in Furniture Design reunited at Elisava during a special event organized by alumni Antón Seoane, CEO and Creative Director of ROKdesign Studio Barcelona, in collaboration with Elisava Alumni.

The gathering brought together former students, faculty members, and current participants of the program around a master’s edition that, more than a decade later, continues to maintain strong personal and professional connections.

Event began with a visual retrospective of the 2013 program through images and videos revisiting some of the projects, moments, and shared experiences from that year. It continued with a talk by program director Ricard Ferrer, focused on the evolution of furniture design and the transformation of the industry over recent years.

The third part of the event featured several alumni from that edition — both in person and joining online from different countries — sharing how their professional paths have evolved since graduating from Elisava, as well as their current projects and areas of practice.

Talks were also attended by faculty members historically linked to the program, including Christophe Mathieu and Vicent Martínez, alongside students from the current edition of the master’s program, creating an intergenerational space for exchange around design, professional practice, and academic experience.

The day continued with a cocktail gathering at the school cafeteria and a group visit to the Disseny Hub Barcelona, closing an event marked by shared memories, networking, and the connection between different generations of designers trained at Elisava.
