Highlighted Alumni at the ADI-FAD Awards 2024

The ADI-FAD Awards ceremony, which was renowned nationally as the most distinguished in industrial and product design, took place on Thursday, June 13th. Several prominent Elisava Alumni were among the awardees, recognized for their innovation and creativity.

Distinguished Recognitions

The ADI Awards encompass various categories, including the historic Delta Awards, presented to professionals and companies since 1961, the ADI Medals for students since 1976, and the recent ADI Culture Awards, celebrating projects highlighting design culture since 2016.

This year’s edition saw 170 projects and products competing for awards, distributed among 12 Golds, 25 Silvers, 4 Mentions, and 129 Bronzes. The jury highlighted the diversity of typologies, the emphasis on health products, and the use of sustainable materials to determine the winners.

Logros de los Alumni

Oiko Design Office, led by Alumni Salva Codinach and Jose F López-Aguilar, received the Silver Delta for the innovative L’Avenir project for Cosmic Industries and another Silver Delta for the Eco Kraft canister.

Nacar Design, under the direction of Bern Donadeu, also stood out with a Silver Delta for the Plaisir project for Comas & Partners.

Anima Design, led by Diego Quiroga, achieved a prominent Gold Delta for the Amnioshell Artificial Placenta and two Silver Deltas for Flashled and the Ossby Geo bicycle.

Emiliana Design Studio, founded by Emili Padrós, was awarded a Gold Delta for Corners, a modular ceramic lattice design for Ceràmica Ferrés.

ADI Medals 2024

Young designers also had their space at the ADI-FAD Awards through the ADI Medals, fostering connections between academia and industry. This year, the medal design was by Alumni Ariadna Sala Nadal, co-winner of the 2022 Gold Medal.

This edition highlighted the Neoshell project by Alumni Pablo Padrós, Carmen Guerra, Alex Bretaudeau, Miguel Clotet, David Riol, María Fernández, Marcel del Valle, Emma Brugué, and Ainara Rico, who received the Gold ADI Medal.

On the other hand, the Hipcare project, developed by Júlia Robledo, Eva Vera, Arsenio Andrea, Lucía Solinís, María Paula Rodríguez, and María Songel, earned the Silver ADI Medal, along with the Punt project by Pere Itchart.

Exhibition “ADI Awards 2024. Industrial Design and Design Culture”

The exhibition, showcasing both winners and finalists, including other Alumni such as Joan Pahissa, Pedro Soveral, Pablo Figuera, Álvaro Goula, Àlex Jiménez, and Eduardo del Fraile, is currently held at Disseny Hub Barcelona. This display celebrates innovation and excellence in design and serves as a crucial window into current and future industrial and product design trends.

The event will continue until August 25th, inviting all interested parties to explore and enjoy the most outstanding contributions from the national design scene.
