Next Saturday 1st February will took place the first edition of the Barcelona Ús Festival, an unavoidable event for the lovers of urban art with the aim of rescuing the use value of the city spaces that have lost their social role due to the urban changes.
For this purpose, a life exhibition with the current local and international artistic referents will take place in a disused place that will come to life: the ancient Encants Vells placed around the Plaça de les Glòries in Barcelona.
Among the artists that will take part, there are former ELISAVA students, like Ariadna Schneider, Octavi Serra or the Domestic Data Streamers collective. Also, a group of five third year students of the Degree in Design, tutored by the designer Jordi Canudas, have been invited to make an artistic intervention in the festival.
The event, organized by eslafamilia.com and the Rebobinart art platform is viewed in a global way and considers the realization of Street Art murals, structural formats, visuals or interactive experiences, workshops for young people and exhibitions and sale of artistic works. Local organization, galleries and artistic collectives will also take part in the event.
