Elisava Alumni David Hernández Salazar leads the Ludófono project, one of the initiatives that were selected in the Elisava Crowdunding Challenge to receive expert support in the design and launch of its crowdfunding campaign. The project began in 2014 between Bogotá and Barcelona with the aim of contributing to the transformation of the processes of teaching art, culture and entrepreneurship at the child and youth level around the world.
Ludófono is a hybrid musical instrument with a didactic purpose that integrates strings, winds and percussion. It is designed so that children can identify their musical affinity from an early age, finding the area that catches their attention the most. "With the Ludófono you can discover your instrumental identity, learn to tune and amplify and also learn to compose with colors" says David. In the object, each color is equivalent to a musical note in the string and wind area. To work the percussion there is a serious tone hitting zone and a sharp tone hitting zone.
In addition to the instrument, the project is complemented by an Integrated Arts Workshop, the Ludoteca Ludófono and various products and services with which they have toured national and international venues. Among other distinctions, they have been recognized with the Latin American 'Innovadores de America' Award or the 'Leading Profession 2017' award from the newspaper El Espectador.
Crowdfunding campaign this summer
From Ludófono they plan to launch their crowdfunding campaign this summer through Kickstarter with the aim of reaching 15,000 Euros to improve the instrument and to develop all the methodology and the recreational and interactive tools that users will have at their disposal. "The communication strategy will be to connect with musical influencers who can help us to promote our instrument," explains David.
