The well-known illustrator and former Student of ELISAVA Alex Trochut (Barcelona, 1981) visits our School this Thursday 29th September in order to give the lecture Work, processes and reflections on creativity, about his latest works and methodology.
He is also a professional in graphic design and typography. He has grown in an intuitive way of working, which has led to an expressive and personal visual style.
As a designer, Alex focuses on the language potential as a visual mean, pushing the language until its limits, turning text and image into a unified expression.
By mixing styles and genres with pop culture, street culture, fashion and music, Alex has created the design, illustration and typography for a wide range of clients: from brands like Nike, Adidas, Coca-Cola or Pepsi, even The Rolling Stones, Katy Perry and media like BBC, The Guardian, The New York Times or Time Magazine, among others.
His work has been recognised worldwide, appearing in exhibitions and publications around the world.
Furthermore, he has given lectures and has been honoured by the Art Directors Club, Type Directors Club, and Creative Review, among others. His monography More is More (2011) explores his work methodologies and influences.
After finishing his studies at ELISAVA, Trochut established his own design studio in Barcelonoa, before moving to New York. He is currently living and working in Brooklyn.
